Eric Courtin Field Technician

Coldwater Laboratory, University of Saskatchewan

Eric Courtin is a weather station technician specializing in remote and alpine field work. Originally from Nanaimo, B.C., he moved to Canmore with his family in January 2017 to work as a research technician at the Coldwater Lab run by the Centre for Hydrology, University of Saskatchewan. His background includes a variety of hydro meteorological field work and research across Western Canada. This includes an M.Sc through the University of Victoria studying snowfall events on an icefield in the North West Territories, maintenance and installations for an environmental instrumentation supplier, and work with the Vancouver Island University Coastal Hydromet lab. When he's not doing snow surveys or programming dataloggers, he can be found enjoying Canmore mountain life with his wife and young son.
