World Water Day 2022 – Making the Invisible Visible: Groundwater

Did you know that only a tiny fraction of liquid freshwater on our continents is found in lakes, rivers, and streams? Almost all liquid (as opposed to frozen) freshwater on land is present as groundwater. For World Water Day in 2022, the Yukon Beringia Centre hosted a special seminar to discuss what is unique about northern groundwater, and how northern groundwater is changing as a result of permafrost thaw.
