Water Experience

Born and raised by the sea, I have always had a passion for water. It has shaped where I am today in many ways. With a background in human and natural systems, I use a coupled systems approach to examine water-related human wellbeing in rural, remote, and otherwise marginalised communities. Beyond this, I integrate university and community together with research, practice, and teaching. Women comprise a specific research focus because they bear the greatest water-related burdens. Vulnerabilities are exacerbated by gendered norms, pregnancy and childbirth, and climate change, while strengths are undervalued and overlooked as a result of lack of representation and agency in critical sectors and arenas.
