"I am somebody who aspires to do more in life in a way that impacts other people’s lives"

"My lived experience coming from South Asia. Born and raised in Karachi, which is heavily water-stressed, my experience is first hand. Also, with the role of women, I have seen a lag in their empowerment which is much needed."

"I am committed to making women the champions for water and bringing their unique perspectives to water policy discourse."

Water Experience

My expertise lies in the political and security dimensions of transboundary rivers in the Global South. At my current organisation, Stimson Center, I lead the Women and water security project which aims to amplify women voices in the water discourse. I am also with the Global Water Forum of SIWI’s Women in Water Diplomacy Network.
