Water Experience

I have worked in the interconnected areas of international development, natural resources governance, and freshwater management for more than 30 years, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to my work as an academic at the University of Waterloo, I am part of the NPO W12+, a Board Member of Oxfam Canada, and Vice President of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association. Through the 83-member organization SADC/WaterNet, I have helped train more than 500 young people in the regional MSc in IWRM program, more than 50% of whom are women. At Waterloo I teach graduate courses in water and security, water human security & development, & a trans-disciplinary applied graduate course in water management, the latter offered through our Water Institute.
