Women Plus Water

Organizational Website

"My lived experience is that I live in a community that is affected by drought most of the year, and community members have to share water at small dams with animals, which is mostly contaminated and unhealthy for consumption. This causes health concerns in the community because of diseases caused by the consumption of the unclean water, such as diarrhea and malaria to name a few. Some time back, the same community was hit by a severe wind crisis that destroyed infrastructure, homesteads and roads where trees fell on roads resulting in accidents and inaccessibility to important areas such as schools and healthcare facilities."

Water Experience

I have lived experiences in water shortage in my community were we are faced with drought and have to travel a long distance to fetch water from streams or dams, which we share with animals, making the water unclean for human consumption.
