Water Experience

As a postdoctoral fellow, and now assistant professor, I focused my research on community driven questions about social and cultural components of water security. I help technical experts like hydrologists and government agents learn about and include social and cultural impacts of water challenges (drinking water, wastewater, watershed management, water governance) when they are doing their work. I am an active member of the GIWS, and was one of the first women to speak at the Women and Water lecture series hosted by the University of Saskatchewan. I have done policy analyses, qualitative and quantitative research, research-creation, engaged scholarship and action research, field work, and many other joint research project driven by and with Indigenous communities in the Prairies and Northern Canada. I teach a graduate course on Water, Human Health, and Wellbeing, and an undergraduate course on Sustainability and Impact Assessment which covers a lot of water-related issues.
