"I am a landscape hydrologist who studies water to help address water quality issues."
Water Experience
I am Luwen Wan, a Ph.D. candidate with a major in hydrogeology at Michigan State University. I have always been intrigued by water sustainability issues under changing climate in the Anthropocene. I am passionate about using data-driven methods and modeling to approach real-world sustainability challenges. My recent research focuses on (1) investigating water pollution from point and nonpoint sources, (2) identifying nutrient surplus hotspots and drivers, and (3) detecting large-scale agricultural practices (e.g., tile drainage, a form of agricultural drainage system that removes excess sub-surface water from fields).
