"I am committed to provide understanding about the microbial mechanisms that govern water quality in aquatic ecosystems. To ultimately protect them."

Water Experience

I work as a researcher in a research centre in topics related to water research, specifically water quality issues. In the workplace I give always the same opportunities to students independent to their gender. I also organize the tasks according to the students' experience and needs, not because of their gender. I adapt the working conditions so that they can be carried out by both women and men. I try to remove - or not to create- barriers (physical and mental) that go against gender equity. My research focuses on understanding the microbial mechanisms driving nutrient fluxes at the sediment-water interface and on developing preventive early-warning indicators for water quality-related risks.
