Women Plus Water

"My lived experience is seeing the miles walked and toll taken by women and girls to collect water, which informs my approach to improve health and wellbeing through equitable water solutions."

"I am committed to promoting gender equity in water access and management."

Water Experience

Through my global health trips, I have witnessed firsthand how water collection in vulnerable populations falls disproportionately on females. Women and girls must walk for miles each day to collect water for their families, taking time away from education and other opportunities. The hours spent walking long distances carrying heavy loads put them at risk for musculoskeletal injuries and takes a toll on their quality of life. As a global health professional, I am committed to promoting gender equity in water access and management to improve health and wellbeing in underserved communities.
