Water Experience

Rebecca Bushby is a Manager in KPMG's International Development Advisory Services (IDAS). She is a WASH engineer with 8 years of work experience from the humanitarian and development sector. Her expertise lies in water scarcity, climate resilience, and public health in WASH interventions. She has worked with the United Nations, the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, and NGOs. Rebecca has extensive experience in water scarcity, climate change, and WASH responses in complex crises and situations. She has supported 17 countries in the MENA region with water scarcity-related programming and climate-resilient WASH while working with UNICEF. She has also led the initiation of development of climate change programming at UNICEF Lebanon and Iran, including conducting complex climate analyses (including hydro-modelling and remote sensing), and operationalized findings for informed programmes. She was also a key member of developing the global UNICEF guidance development on peacebuilding in WASH and climate change analyses for children. Rebecca has in-country experience from Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Burundi, Senegal and Indonesia. Rebecca has strong experience in humanitarian and developing programming, including from program inception to monitoring and evaluation. She is also experienced in government partnerships and donor relations. She has successfully fundraised and managed donor relations with the Adaptation Fund, KfW, SDC, EU/ECHO, and bilateral governmental partners. She has also managed IPC and community engagement in the WASH sector (cluster) in Lebanon. She also has strong experience working with research, universities, and think tanks and worked closely with partners to develop evidence and data on climate change, including developing climate rationales. Rebecca holds an MSc Eng in Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering from the University of Leeds and a BA in International Development and Political Geography from the University of Oslo.
