Prof. Giesy is an ecotoxicologist and environmental chemist and chemical risk assessor. His background and training are in ecology and specifically limnology. He identifies novel chemicals in the environment and then assesses the hazards and risk they pose. He conducts studies from molecular to ecosystem-levels of organization.
