Knowledge Mobilization Tool: Hydrology Toolbox

Data and Map Products for Surface and Subsurface Water Managers

The "hydrology toolbox" describes a set of specialized tools for water management applications. We present three tools here.

The first is by Dr. Kevin Shook that looks at using virtual watershed outputs to drive other water (hydraulic) models. This linkage can allow water managers to use hydrological data to "force" more locallized models, allowing for the exploration of local land and water management decisions. Second, Dr. Masaki Hayashi describes a tool for generating maps of shallow groundwater recharge. Finally, Dr. Grant Ferguson introduces a framework to assess the vulnerability of aquifers to contamination from abandoned oil and gas wells.

The hydrology toolbox and is various tools will be discussed in Group A at our live event.
