Knowledge Mobilization Tool: Virtual Watershed-Based Model
Investigating Hydrological, Chemical, and Biodiversity Responses to Change
This tool is built on our virtual watershed modelling platform. Our goal is to model the behaviour of watersheds in response to changes like land use and climate. The model connects climate, land use, and hydrology to water chemistry and biodiversity. Outputs could include ecosystem services or other indicators of watershed health. Data can be extracted online according to regions of interest, like class, province, or treaty.
The first video introduces the virtual watershed concept. The second video by Dr. Colin Whitfield introduces a simple prototypes tool to visualize data produced by the model.
The virtual watershed-based tool will be discussed in Group B at our live event.
