Please join us for Jeff McDonnell's Post Doc Mentoring Lunches taking place monthly this fall from September to December. Mentoring lunches will address various topics, including academic writing, creativity, applying for jobs, research communication and creating a work-life balance.

This week's topic: Why we do it?

Description: This is based on a request from the last meeting that questioned why any sane person would go into an academic job, knowing the crazed work hours and compromised work-life balance. Jeff will present a few ideas and then we’ll discuss some of the reasons why people do it (and like it).
