Core Modelling and Forecasting Team
Canada and the world need to predict water futures in order to ensure water security at home and beyond. Currently, there is inadequate scientific knowledge, monitoring and modelling technologies, and national forecasting capacity to predict water related extreme events and manage water security risks in Canada. The Global Water Futures (GWF) program aims to deliver risk management solutions for water futures in Canada and other cold regions, where global warming is changing landscapes, ecosystems, and the water environment. The Core Modelling and Forecasting Team is a core GWF team, that aims to position the GWF and Canada as a global leader in water science for cold regions and address the strategic needs of the Canadian economy in adapting to change and managing risks of uncertain water futures and extreme events.
