Kevin Schneider PhD
Professor College of Arts and Science - Department of Computer Science, University of SaskatchewanDr. Schneider is Director of the Software Research Lab (SRLab) and a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan (USask). In the past he has held a number of leadership positions at the university, including Computer Science Department Head, Vice-Dean Science, Chief Information Officer – Acting, Special Advisor Digital Research, and Associate Vice-President Research – Interim. He is an elected member of the International Federation for Information Processing working group 2.7/13.4 on user interface engineering and past Prairie representative for the Canadian Association of Computer Science. He has served on numerous program committees, NSERC Strategic Grants panels, an NSERC Strategic Networks Selection Committee, and co-chaired a number of workshops and conferences. Previously he was President & CEO of Legasys Corp., a software research and development company and he continues to promote software entrepreneurship and work closely with industry. An IEEE Computer Society Member and an ACM member since 1989, he has published over 100 papers and supervised/co-supervised dozens of graduate students. In addition to his leadership skills and industry experience, he has expertise in advanced software analytics, human computer interaction, visualization, software evolution, software renovation, programming languages, and data-intensive discovery.
